Join Us in Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness, promoting early detection, and supporting those affected by breast cancer.  At FTG we are committed to making a difference this month by supporting several breast cancer charities and participating in various challenges and events to help spread awareness and contribute to the cause.

Breast Cancer in the UK: Key Statistics

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, affecting one in seven women during their lifetime. Each year, around 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer, along with approximately 400 men. Despite these numbers, early detection plays a crucial role in improving survival rates. Thanks to advancements in research and awareness, the UK has seen an increase in the 10-year survival rate, which is now around 76%. However, more work is needed, as breast cancer still claims the lives of over 11,500 women each year.

What FTG are doing in support this October

Skipping! for Cancer Research

The FTG team is taking on a fun challenge this October to support of Cancer Research.

Together, we’ve committed to completing 100 skips a day throughout the month—that’s a total of 3,100 skips! While some of us may not be spring chickens, we’re ready to give it our best shot, have some fun, and we will share our progress on social media along the way. But we can’t do it alone—we need your support! We would love for you to sponsor us, and every donation will help spur us on and make a difference. Every little bit counts in making an impact this October!

Quiz Night for Keeping Abreast

The FTG team is excited to host a special quiz night, bringing together family and friends for an evening of fun, all in support of a cause close to our hearts.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Keeping Abreast Charity in Norwich, with whom we have a special affiliation. This wonderful charity provides vital support for women undergoing breast reconstruction after mastectomy, helping them through their journey of recovery. It’s set to be a fantastic night, and we look forward to raising funds and awareness for this important cause.
